We will train our critical eye to understand all the uses, possibilities and limits of communication that cannot be conceived without education. Through texts and the study of different cases, we will understand how the Western World works to achieve its exchange of information and values. We will learn how to analyze social and educational contexts, how to recognize interpersonal and social communication skills, as well as techniques and strategies in professional contexts. The main goal is to understand why it is important to discuss communication and education, and for that reason we will create a comfortable environment to make the students take part in this subject as active participants. If we are aware of the challenges that our current society has on communication and education, we will be able to develop critical thought and innovate our own educational practices.
The course introduces students, especially from China, to the basic institutions and principles of the Western politics and constitutional culture, examining these institutions and principles in their historical, legal, political and institutional approach.
We also present the role of culture and of non-state actors in the creation and development of the constitutional framework.
The course will be organized into two modules: A
political module and a constitutional
module.
